The biomimetic ultra hydrophobic coating technology developed by Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences has been applied to the antenna cover of outdoor mobile POS machines, effectively solving the signal attenuation problem caused by rainwater. This coating has a contact angle of over 150 ° and a rolling angle of less than 10 °. Raindrops can quickly roll off, avoiding the formation of a water film to absorb electromagnetic waves. In moderate rain environments, the signal attenuation decreases from 15dB to 3dB.
The coating adopts a three-level micro nano structure design, which combines pressure resistance and mechanical stability. After 1000 friction tests, it still maintains superhydrophobicity and is firmly bonded to the ABS plastic antenna cover of the POS machine. During the rainy season in the south, the successful transaction rate of POS machines equipped with this coating reached 99.5%, which is 12 percentage points higher than uncoated equipment. It has been widely used in agricultural markets, mobile vendors and other scenarios.
